"Bones" has been described as a take-out story from God Stalk, but it's actually a stand-alone that came later, written what I was back in graduate school.  The whole story grew out of a line in God Stalk about the Maze being so complicated that its own architect got lost in it. At the time, I had no idea where that idea would lead.
